Deterioration in the face of a work titled "Progress and Civilisation." Symbolism, anyone? LOL!

so strange reading this after playing a little Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young tonight as I celebrated my birthday. Wonder if Neil noticed this at all? I would have. How interesting is this. I loved this story.
