Meredith

Your french husband packs like my french husband.

ms*robyn

I am glad I am a girlie girl! I cannot go without my daily shower . Men are very different to women. Boy am I glad that God made me a woman

gracie

Travelling light... how many of us can do that? We carry around soooo much stuff (emotionally as well..)

sofia

and like my french husband too and he also goes trekking with a friend but in Laos :)

Jeanne

What a sweet and lovely story.
I hope your husband has a wonderful trip!
Love and hugs

I've read that the French are very BIG on trekking. I suppose it's about getting outside and being at one with nature etc...Of course now a days you can take your ipod, computer, cell, a whole mess of urban stuff with you. Didn't a couple get lost in the Himalayan mountains and they text-messaged friends in London and were rescued! Extra underpants are the least of it :)

cruststation

You son is too cute! That island looks like a wonderful place to holiday.

Lee

Do you think French Husband would talk to Scottish Wife? Her idea of travelling light is to only need a trailer.

Shannon Lewis

This had me laughing out loud! Your son is something else.

That trek definitely sounds like a guy thing for sure.

susan

ah to travel is to travel light. there is always a way to get by! hooray for the french husband!

snowsparkle

what an adventurer! i wish i could figure out how to travel light. just going to work i have a rolling backpack with books, water, lunch, purse, notebooks... what a ridiculous image i make running for the train!

denise lombardozzi

they call that going commando,no?!sounds good to me!

p.s.feeling better i hope!

Jennifer

Oh wow 2 weeks! That's such a loooong time to be apart. I hope he has a wonderful time.

Ulla

Such an example that French Husband sets - Live life the fullest, and don't worry about extraneous bits and pieces... Love it!

Mary Jane

Beautiful post...it's a wonderful thought and will carry me through the rest of the day....xxooxx

Carol

Ha ha your son is so right! The poor person sitting next to him in the plane back! Have a safe and fun trip Yann!

expatraveler

Haha - now that is pretty funny! I guess you guys were all glad you weren't with him..

Carol

P.S. I hope your not feeling poorly anymore Corey! Can you cope with Yann going away for two weeks btw?

andrea

Heehee, I pity the person who has to wash his laundry when he gets home.

Great exchange between father and son.

diana

french husband is a manly man !

Annie

This is so marvelous Corey. And your son is so funny. How on the mark he is. Of course, French Hubby will likely find a shower before getting on a plane to fly home.

My dear friend Francine travels all over the world, the more remote the better. Generally she has little more with her than a small frameless backpack. And mind you, Phaa is in her mid-60s! What adventurers they are.

kathleen

This story made me laugh, I love your stories Corey! :)

Joanne

That was just too funny! I could hear Sacha saying that and it sounded much like something one of my own children would say!
In this world, we all tend to pack too much and it is the 'stuff' we accumulate that can weigh heavy, and keep us tied down, can't it?
Good reminder!

Josephine

Such a young gentleman already, that Sacha!

I hope your husband has a safe and wonderful trip. And I am wishing you brightness and beauty!!

With Love ~ Josephine

stephanie s

i could learn a thing or two from your husband.... but, going with out underpants - i just can't do it. men ARE a special breed.

Gaetan

I DON'T BELIEVE IT...
French husband has changed alot...

isabel

i hope you are feeling a bit better today, Corey.

la vie en rose

HA! trey is into backpacking too so this is a very familiar scenario...

Jeremy

Sounds like he's got the right idea

robinfox pampered inparis

i used to travel with a friend who only would pack old underware and socks, then he would throw them out ,i always pitied the person who had to empty his garbage when he was on vacation.men are so portable

DesignGaL

I couldn't travel lightly even if I tried,lol.

herhimnbryn

Oh , this is so timely! We fly to Europe in a couple of days for a month.........my husband's case is half the size of mine and I have halfed my clothes pile twice! This from a woman who used to live out of a rucsack!

vicci_ann

Out of the mouths of babes!!!! I'd love to be at that exact place in the photo...lets go Corey!

mary ann

berrie

MCaplan

With my luck, I would get that seat! Although I have seen pics of French Husband, and what he may threaten with stench, he certainly makes up for with kind eyes! ;)

Farrah Tan

Je suis une malaisienne a Australie et j'adore beaucoup son blog! J'ai lu avec l'amusement que votre mari a visité mon pays d'origine !

Marie-Noëlle

I love this story and I love the title you 've written for it ...
