Turn of the century Absinthe spoon. Absinthe is a highly alcoholic anise flavored beverage. Absinthe spoon is placed on top of a glass with a cube of sugar or two, then one pours the absinth over the sugar, then one sets the sugar cubes on fire and let the melt into the Absinthe below. Historical this drink is also known as: "la fée verte" The Green Fairy.

Rare turn of the century wooden souvenir shoe for sewing needles (Etui) and or for buttons. Nearly four inches long. Brass loop to pull off the top. Traces of hand painted flowers on top. Most likely from the south of France. There is a small nick on the toe, enlarge photo to see details. 35 euro ($50) includes international postage

Turn of the century French red and grey checked bed covering. A yard long, tube pillow case, plus a duvet cover (one yard and thirty two inches x one yard and sixteen inches. The pillow case and duvet cover both have monograms and ribbon ties. The fabric is most likely from the northern part of France.

Hand carving on the top with leaves and roses.

Porcelain de Paris statuette of La Madone.
There are two types of Porcelain de Paris statuettes. The first one is (one above): The Virgin (La Madone) standing with her arms open symbolizing her "fiat". The second is of The Virgin (La Madone) (photo below) with the Christ child.
These statuettes are from the end of the nineteen century. No two are alike. They are hand painted. The statuettes are usual with a wreath of white roses, black hair, some gold trim and standing on the top of the world.

Turn of the century cafe au lait bowl for a small child, or a not so thirsty adult. Very small cafe au lait bowl you might say... Three inches round. Old cafe au lait bowls are hard to find, especially this size. If you enlarge the photo you will see there are a few nicks on the rim.
