What makes these jam jars, (or pot de confiture in French) rare?  The size. These are individual jam jars used at breakfast time... and to really put a spin on this... not just breakfast in any ole' home but rather a Chateau like place (or hotel). These little jam jars are from around 1880 or earlier, I have never seen them before in this size.... well actually once before.

Nineteen century glove clasp, or letter holder, or in this case as I did not have a pair of gloves, I used it to hold a small book about Paris. The clasp use to be sold when you purchased a pair of gloves so you wouldn't loose one or the other.
