Set of two white cotton ribbons with red monograms: "C.R." These turn of the century ribbons were used for tagging a child's clothing. When going to school or summer camp French children had their clothing marked with their initials.

In French schools the children are taught to do their school exercises in a scratch notebook. When their work is perfected then they are allowed to write it on the paper that they will turn in. Their homework is done the same way. These notebooks are called: Cahier de BROUILLON.
