In the town where I live there are a few restaurants, five bakeries, two cafes, a few pizza joints, a major grocery store and a weekly open market.
I cook nearly everyday, but I do not do breakfast, in France breakfast is a coffee, a baguette, yogurt and fruit. The bakery is two minutes away on foot. Anyone can do breakfast.
Lunch and dinner, that is another story. Today for lunch:
Sliced baby leeks sautéed in olive oil...
with dried orange peel, to give it a bit of pizzazz.
Salt to taste,
Walnut oil to swirl with grace,
Lemon juice to tingle the taste buds.
When the baby leeks glistened, everything came together with cooked, but no longer warm, lentils.
Delicious spring with hints of winter not far behind.
