Deep in Provence, during summertime the small villages come alive with a atmosphere of old time goodness. The days are longer, the lavender is cut, the fields golden, most people take time off for vacation, tourist are abundant and the villages have various celebrations, through the day and night. Tonight our friend Lisa's village celebrated Pistou! A provencal soup of vegetables of the season with garlic and basil, or I should say garlic and basil soup, for 500 people! The oldest person attending was honored, she was 97 years old.
We walked down the lane from Lisa's house to the center of the old town to the "Pistou Party".
This morning there was a brocante in her village. It doesn't get better!
Oh it did... there was also dancing!
