Stages of Motherhood.
There never has been one stage or moment of motherhood that I loved more.
(Well waking up, three or four times a night, for the first five years wasn't fun, but I do not regret it.)
From the first moment to this present day: Love is what I have felt when I have been with my children...
This evening, this tender evening...
I felt the extraordinary privilege of being a mother.
To listen, to encourage, to remind:
"All that matters is that you love and are loved."
As any mother (parent) I know would say, "When your child is well all is well."
And on that rare occasion when a grown child needs a cuddle, then, my oh my--
A mother's heart widens, soaking up their childrens fears and tries to put them in a safe place.
