The World Series.
Who would have thought that I would write about the World Series, baseball or for that matter sports on my blog?
My brother Mat picked me up at the San Francisco airport last Thursday, and since then the air in California has been buzzing with B A S E B A L L. Planes with banners were flying over the San Francisco ATT Park, the radio has been proclaiming facts and glory about San Francisco's hottest team, my brothers no stop babble about baseball with words that made no sense to me at all. I interrrupted them... "What does closure mean? What is a triple crown? What is the World Series? Why fear a beard? Who are the Tigers? Are they related to Tiger Woods?"
My brothers Mat and Marty are baseball fanatics. Both were Little League coaches since their sons were born with a bat and glove in their hands. My oldest nephew is a pitcher on his college's team, my brother Marty had a baseball field in his backyard, a real damn baseball field that he made for his sons, and that he mowed every weekend!
So it stands that after four days of listening and watching baseball from every angle, corner, radio, party, family moment and the TV I must write on my blog my two cent news report:
Who would have thought that the Little Giant's closer, Sergio Romo would strike out baseball's Triple Crown winner with a backwards K to seal the Giant's Glory, the World Series won in Four?
My family that is who.
Erin Andrew watch out I might get into this baseball reporting thing.
