French lavender fields before the harvest.
Rows and rows, nearly as far as the eye can see.
Why is the season so short?
A house in the middle of a lavender field, can you imagine the perfumed air?
Lavender is said to have a calming effect, aids sleeping... I wonder if I lived in a lavender field such as this, would I become zen? Already I fall asleep without much effort, if I lived by a lavender field I might never wake up.
Those clouds! The best prop to a photo, is having nature lend a hand.
A woman I know in Isle sur la Sorgue, Francine makes the most lovely lavender sachets/cushions out of 18th century French fabric. The sachet/cushions are stuffed hard with lavender. The sachet/cushion above I have had for over ten years, it still smells of sweet lavender.

Picnic under an olive tree:
A blanket, a pillow, the flitered sunlight, the scent of lavender, and olive branches swaying overhead.
Dreams grow in such conditions.
