Photography and text by Corey Amaro:
Enough antiques to make my brother Mathew have a royal fit, or start praying that I change the subject before I go home (which by the way brother Mathew I arrive on the seventh of October.)
One more look at the antiques that were hanging around Marburger this last week.... I saw:
Sacred heart antiques
Muted colored antiques.
Wine object antiques
Antique chandlers hanging on the porch.
These were the antiques we helped carried, set up, and watch find new homes.
Black and white antiques.
A nude statue antique that I wanted to carry home on the airplane with me, but it would have had to sit in French Husband's seat, and he didn't agree. I told that man of mine he better have a fig leaf to entertain me.
Happy camper antique statue, fully dressed, no fig leaf, still yummy.
Swedish clocks, I want Angie and Hugh Tyner (antique dealers from Atlanta) to adopt me, so I could live everyday with their vast collection of Swedish antiques!
Really God we need to talk.
Vintage wine corks under French marriage glass dome. I like the idea...
Antique botanicals... did I ever tell you about the time I collected seaweed, then dried it and framed it? Drying seaweed stinks to the hight heavens, and the lower ones too.
Buying them is easier.
Antique wooden candlesticks stand guard.
Antique crown... need I say more.
Large, amazing, perfect patina and peeling, Italian antique dresser.
All French Husband could say when he saw it was... "I bet the drawers are hard to open."
Dang, the bug has not bit him hard enough so I slapped his arm, "Who cares."
He shook his head, and tried to slap my arm in retaliation. But I wasn't born yesterday I stepped to the side and he hit another woman passing by instead. I walked away quickly figuring he got himself into his own mess by saying that hunk of burning love dresser had a problem. Ha. That will teach him.
He still isn't laughing.
I reckon my brother Mathew isn't either.
Sacred Heart Antiques had these massive, and I mean MASSIVE angels... They are praying that French Husband and my brother Mathew get bit by the brocante bug and get bit big time.
Should I ask them to pray for you too?
