Matters of the Heart
Looking opposite directions, they both wanted the same thing.
Their minds overflowing in the clouds. Thoughts flowered but not gathered.
Longing in the midst of comfort. They debated in their silence.
Never knowing the others need.
Photo: Turn of the century, porcelain top hair brushes, without any tangles to brush through...they unnecessarily knotted that which mattered most.

a charming combination of poem and image.

Just perfect. The image, the tiny story, the nosegay of truths.

"Thoughts flowered"...
I do like this metaphor!
And within no time the French word "pensées" is budding in my mind...
French "pensées" can be either "thoughts" or "pansies" in English...
Now when I send "mes meilleures pensées", will you get "my best thoughts" or a little bunch of delicate purple flowers ?

How lovely and delicate. A fine counterpoint to deep and perhaps heavy thoughts.

Corey,
Perhaps they are instructing us... That there may be different paths to the same goal.
They, two, may infact not be at odds, but be cooperating in looking both ways. The tentacles of their minds entwine to silently share their discoveries and future goals.
I think they communicate more than those of us who are not frozen looking in opposing directions.

Thanks for the experiences offered by your blog, this post and previous ones. I haven't lived in the poetic world of words for some time... It's good for me to be here now.

*Guilt*
I've done that before...lost in my own neediness...missed out on a chance to be there for someone else. Bad me.

Cogitate, communicate, consummate...!

Not good for love...Too easy to just stay silent. Instead, let us RISK reaching out and being the fool! This is a secret to long love. Being willing to reach out...

I don't think strands can remain knotted for long with your gentle words and smile that brings healing to the soul. You are like one of these beautiful porcelain ladies that untangles with every written word.
(Thank you Anonymouse for alerting me to the flea market over here, it's a box of candy filled with treasure)

With those lovely rosy cheeks I'd say they might be blushing at their thoughts.

Oh how you make us think. These words alone pint a powerful picture but add the image and the story is complete. This is beautiful.
I speak and yet he does not always hear.

Certainly there are some things best left unspoken; however, some thoughts when left alone begin to fester and "unnecessary knots" begin to form. Best to clear the air.
Such beautiful ladies to tend the hair.

I live my life by rulings of my heart.
When your heart speaks take good notes......
Listen to "The Secret"

Hopefully soon someone will say something and clear the air by revealing what they're thinking. There's nothing that causes more knots than mind reading.

Unnecessary knots can be so hard to untie. I say gather the flowered thoughts and leave the debating to others.

I looked in the opposite direction and saw you have goodie bundles for sale :O
Are they unnecessarily knotted with ribbons and bows?
A marché au puce right here at Tongue in cheek!
