Heavy Emboidery Linen Sheet
If you spread out all the handmade and emboidery sheets in France, they would cover the entire country! The older ones are sewn together finely down the the middle, as the looms weren't large enough to make a sheet to cover a double bed. Mainly, bed sheets were made out of cotton or linen. A woman's handiwork was a prized art to creating a beautiful home. The initials of their family names were often used in decorating.
When I buy serviettes, tableclothes, or bed linens I don't worry that the initials don't match mine...I just make up new names. This bed sheet's initials are, "D T," which in my books stands for: "Dreams Thereof." What are some of your names?
